Diem-Chi Nguyen
Chi Nguyen, AIA, earned Architecture and Sustainable Environments degrees from the California Polytechnic State University – San Luis Obispo. She began her career in California before relocating to Vermont in 2016. Chi is an active member of AIA Vermont, currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors, and as Chair of the Scholarship Funding Committee to raise funds for annual scholarships that are awarded to deserving students on their journey towards becoming an architect. Chi previously held the position of Director of the AIAVT Emerging Professionals Network, and continues to contribute to that committee as a member. Chi also took the lead to establish the AIAVT Furniture Design Competition, now going into its 2nd year.
Chi’s repertoire includes projects that range in scale from single-family residential remodels to large-scale commercial and industrial builds and retrofits. She directs her focus toward projects that benefit the broad community, and employs sustainable design principles to create structures that communicate with their environment. Chi’s work expresses the connection people have with the buildings they interact with.
Ms. Nguyen strives to create architecture that evokes the senses, allowing user experience to drive her design decisions. She believes that the mindful and sensible design of spaces can promote and improve the health of its occupants, and finds that the fine details can make the biggest impact to leave a lasting impression.
