Douglas R. Viehmann
Douglas R. Viehmann, AIA, LEED-AP, earned Architecture and Fine Arts degrees from Rhode Island School of Design. Before moving to Vermont in 1978 he was a design partner of Conservative Builders, a residential design/build firm in Maine. He currently serves as State Coordinator for the Intern Development Program for AIA/Vermont. He has served on the Board of Directors of Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity, and as a member of the Board of Governors and Buildings and Grounds Chair for the Lake Champlain Yacht Club. Doug is active on many committees of First Congregational Church, Burlington. He has won design awards from AIA Vermont, IDID, American Concrete Institute, and Preservation Burlington.
Sustainable use of resources has been a hallmark of Mr. Viehmann’s work. Doug believes in the use of local and natural materials to reduce the environmental cost of a project and keep construction dollars in local hands. He believes that the client’s decisions are best made with accurate information presented in clear language and graphics.
